José de la Fuente is a Professor at Instituto de Investigación en Recursos Cinegéticos (IREC), Spain, and Adjunct Professor at Oklahoma State University, USA. He earned a Physics degree from Moscow State University and University of Havana, and a Ph.D. in Biology from University of Havana. With over 40 years of research experience across Switzerland, Cuba, the USA, and Spain, he leads the Genomics, Proteomics & Biotechnology Lab. Author of 800+ papers, 7 books, and holder of 36 patents, his work focuses on molecular biology, host-vector-pathogen interactions, and vaccine development against infectious diseases, including tick-borne illnesses and Alpha Gal Syndrome.
