Anke Krueger

Universität Stuttgart, Germany

Anke Krueger is Professor at the University of Stuttgart and Fellow of the Centre for Integrated Quantum Science and Technology (Germany). After studies of chemistry in Braunschweig and Bordeaux, Anke received her PhD from TU Braunschweig (Germany) in 2000, working on highly strained unsaturated cyclic hydrocarbons. In 2000, she started to work with nanoscale carbon at Toyohashi University of Technology (Japan) as a JSPS/Feodor Lynen Fellow. In 2002, she moved to Kiel University (Germany) as Liebig fellow and later as junior professor. In 2008, she became a professor of chemistry at Würzburg University (Germany) and moved to Stuttgart in 2021 to become a chair of organic chemistry. Her research focus lies in the synthesis, functionalization and characterization of nanoscale carbon materials and carbon-rich organic compounds, for applications in biomedicine, catalysis, quantum technology and energy storage. She is co-author of ~ 120 papers, books and book chapters, editorial board member of Diamond and Related Materials and Materials for Quantum Technology, member of the board of the German Chemical Society and the chemistry board of DFG, and coordinator and WP leader of several international and national research projects.
