Markus is an Associate Professor and Director of the Minor in Nuclear Studies and Society at McMaster University. He supports academic and industrial research programs in nuclear fuels and materials. In addition to research, he supports nuclear education at McMaster and UNENE. Markus is also the president of Piro Consulting, which primarily supports the industry on various matters related to safety and licensing. Previously, he was a Department Chair at Ontario Tech University, Section Head at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, and Post Doc at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
